Gyoza Dumplings with Asian Slaw & Brown Rice

Ingredients (2-4 people)

  • Gyoza dumplings from Ardkeen stores or Supervalu freezer (we don’t have a recipe for fresh dumplings but this can be found online if you wanted to try them from scratch)
  • Asian slaw: 1 red cabbage, 1 green cabbage, medium white onion, one apple
  • Dressing for the Asian Slaw; 1 tbsp olive oil, 1tbsp tahini, 1 tbsp sesame oil, 1 tbsp rice vinegar, few drops of tobacco sauce, salt & pepper to taste, 1 clove crushed garlic, ½ tsp grated ginger, few chilli flakes, zest of one lime, juice of one lime
  • Brown rice for 4 people
  • Freshly chopped coriander
  • Dipping sauce; soya sauce, rice wine vinegar in equal measurements, freshly chopped coriander and tsp of dried chilli flakes




  • Grate the cabbage, apple, onion and add to a large serving bowl
  • Mix all the ingredients for the dressing and stir into the slaw mix
  • Boil or cook brown rice in a rice cooker as per instruction
  • Prepare the dipping sauce
  • Heat oil on a pan and shallow fry the Gyoza dumplings for a few minutes until cooked and golden brown on each side
  • Serve the dumplings with Asian slaw and brown rice, garnish with freshly chopped coriander and place the dipping sauce on the side
